Oklalusa: The Story of the Black State Movement in OK Territory
Time & Location
About The Event
Oklalusa, which means home of the black people, is about the true story of a U.S. Territory becoming a state run by men and women with fleecy locks and dark complexions. Blacks fought to put half the nearly one million acres available in Oklahoma Territory into skilled dark hands. What really happened in the run of 1891 and its aftermath is largely unknown until now. Hear Eddie Jackson, author of the book Oklalusa, tell the story.
